How we test

Link types we verified

Each of the following was tested end-to-end with real public Facebook links: the link was pasted, the video found, and a download produced.

• Standard Facebook video pages (facebook.com/…/videos/… and watch links)
• Facebook Reels (facebook.com/reel/…)
• fb.watch short links
• Mobile links (m.facebook.com) and share/redirect links copied from the app

Qualities and downloads we verified

• A standard public video downloaded at 720p, which was genuinely the best quality the source offered — the file downloaded immediately (“Ready now”).
• A public Reel downloaded at 1080p full HD. That quality stored picture and sound separately, so PasteToSave prepared a combined file first; the result was verified as a valid, playable video file.
• Preparing a best-quality Reel took about 12.5 seconds in that test; across our test runs preparation averaged roughly 10–15 seconds. Times vary with video length and demand.
• Finding a video from a freshly pasted link typically took 1–2 seconds; repeat lookups of the same link were much faster.
• Downloads are sent as proper file downloads (so browsers save rather than play them), filenames are based on the video title, and resuming/partial downloads are supported — all verified at the server level.

What has NOT been verified yet

We distinguish between technically supported (built and verified at the server level) and device-verified (confirmed on a physical device in hand). The following are technically supported but still require real-device verification:

• iPhone — Safari: Requires real-device verification
• Android — Chrome: Requires real-device verification
• Android — Samsung Internet: Requires real-device verification

Known limitations

• Public content only. Private videos, friends-only posts and private groups are not supported, by design.
• Facebook’s video links expire after a while. If a download link stops working, paste the Facebook link again to get a fresh one.
• The highest quality of some videos — especially Reels — needs a short preparation step before downloading.
• Some prepared highest-quality files use a newer video format that very old devices may not play; the “Ready now” quality uses the most widely compatible format.
• Live broadcasts have not been tested.

Our method, in plain language

We test with real public Facebook links, not simulations: paste the link, confirm the right video is found with its real qualities, download the file, and check that the file is valid and plays. We record when the tests were last run and update this page when results change. Anything we haven’t tested is labelled as such — we never publish invented success rates or made-up device results.
