How to download a Facebook Reel

    Open the Reel on Facebook

    Find the Reel you want in the Facebook app or on facebook.com. It needs to be a public Reel — anything behind a login cannot be downloaded.

    Tap Share, then Copy link. In a browser you can copy the address bar instead — it usually looks like facebook.com/reel/… Short fb.watch links work too.

Download Facebook Reels on iPhone

In the Facebook app, open the Reel, tap Share then Copy link. Switch to Safari, open this page, touch and hold the box above and tap Paste, then tap Download.

Safari shows a download arrow while the file saves. Afterwards, open the Files app and look in Downloads; to move the Reel into your camera roll, open it, tap Share, then Save Video. Our iPhone download guide covers this in more detail, including what to do if Safari blocks the download.

Download Facebook Reels on Android

Copy the Reel link in the Facebook app, open Chrome or Samsung Internet, paste the link into the box above and tap Download. Your browser shows a download notification, and the Reel appears in the Downloads folder — usually in your gallery a moment later, once Android has scanned it.

Facebook Reel video quality

Can I download Facebook Reels in HD?

Why won’t my Facebook Reel download?

The most common reasons are a Reel that is not public, a partly copied link, or a link that points to a page rather than the Reel itself. Open the Reel, copy the link again with Share → Copy link and retry. Brand-new Reels occasionally need a second attempt.
